I had been reluctant to use mods before reaching 70, thinking it was somehow "cheating", or that by downloading them I would risk getting a virus or malware on my computer, but now I find they are life savers, literally!AddOns are a way to enhance game play by offering more information, actions, functionality, and even warnings to you and your party members. There are a lot of great mods out there that do different things, but I wanted to touch on some of the ones that I use as a priest.
After learning about the addon manager WoWMatrix (thanks Vindetta!) mods are easy to install, uninstall, and update at the click of a button without the fear of catching some nasty bug.After installing WoWMatrix, all the mods mentioned below are supported by it, and can easily be found in its search box.I would suggest to anyone, even if they have used mods before, to download this indispensable tool.
DBM (Deadly Boss Mods) is a boss mod for raids.It shows timers and warnings of boss abilities.This is a MUST have if you’re in a raid.
Decursive is a cleansing mod to help quickly dispel and cure disease.You receive a sound warning when someone in party/raid is inflicted, with little boxes in the right hand screen that you can either left click to dispel, or right click to remove disease.Some examples of situations I’ve found Decursive useful is “Maiden of Virtue” boss fight in Karazan, and the Bear form fight of Zul’jin in Zul’Aman.
OMEN is a threat meter that lists a party’s comparative aggro generation. Omen gathers more accurate information the more members in your party that use it.For healers or shadow, knowing who is top of the threat list can allow you to make a more informative decision on when to use your fade, hold back that DPS, or being prepared to heal someone who is passing the tanks threat.
Recount is an analysis tool to provide information that can be used to improve a player’s performance.Loads of information is collected from all players in your party/raid.With the feedback of data in the form of totals, percentages and even pie charts on healing done, over healing, HoTs, I am able to learn from myself and others.Not just numbers, this tool tracks what spells were cast so in turn I am able to discover how to maximize my own efficiency and abilities by seeing what works for others.

Yes, Afterlife is another good addOn which is also supported in WoWMatrix. Track your shackles and let others in your party/raid know if your shackle is releasing, resisted, or broken by damage.
